VIGIL Journal is an international sociopolitical magazine, published in Russian, English, and Spanish since 2012.

General Information

The journal's name derives from the Latin word "vigil" — meaning wakeful, watchful, an observer. The journal is registered with Roskomnadzor (certificate PI No. 77-50282, dated June 22, 2012, ISSN 2304-9871). The magazine positions itself as a platform for dialogue between Russian and international audiences, covering politics, economics, and culture.

Structure of the Journal

The journal's content is organized into five thematic sections:

  • Politics — current international events, interviews with members of the political establishment, and analysis from leading global experts

  • Economics and Finance — global economic trends and financial-economic processes in the countries where the journal circulates

  • Industry, Science, and Innovation — industrial processes, the real economy, and new projects for mutually beneficial partnerships

  • Culture and Education — educational technologies, leading academic institutions, and landmark cultural events

Leadership and History

The journal's editor-in-chief is Mikhail Ivanovich Azhgirevich, its founder. The magazine's co-founder and first chairman of the editorial council was Anatoly Petrovich Kuznetsov (1943–2015), Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation, whose diplomatic expertise laid the foundation for the publication's international orientation.
